Android 8.1 Oreo - Nokia 8

The new Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update has finally come out on Nokia’s bellwether phone, the Nokia 8 through Nokia Phones Beta Lab, which is the company’s beta program. The new Android 8.1 Beta update was released on Tuesday by HMD Global, following by a twitter announcement by Juho Sarvikas, the chief product officer himself. The tweet was a confirmation for the Nokia 8 users that they will be getting the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update. The Nokia 8 smartphone was released in the Indian market in September 2017 and the Android 8.0 Oreo update followed a month later, in November. The Android 8.1 Oreo updates comes with various new features. Along with bug fixes, optimisations and security updates, this update includes Neural Networks API, Settings and Power menu with a new interface, developer APIs and a lot more.

Moving on to the technicalities, the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta’s version is 4.82A, which will cost your storage, a little around 1550 to 1600 Mbs. In order to enjoy the lastest new features and interfaces, users will have to sign up on the Nokia Phone Beta Labs page, using their Google Accounts. Registering the IMEI Number and some other details will send out a notification to all the Nokia 8 users who want the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update in a matter of few hours.

Getting into some details of the flagship Nokia 8, the phone comes with a powerful 4 GB RAM running on the Snapdragon 835 SoC Octa Core processor, which gives it an immense performance boost, along with a whooping 64 GB of internal storage space, which can further be expanded up to 256GB, if users choose to install a Micro SD Card. The cameras on the new Nokia 8 are capable of taking some really clear and vibrant pictures, thanks to the 13 Megapixel lens, on both, the front and the rear. The new Nokia 8’s battery life has been reviewed outstanding, credits to its 3090mAH lithium-ion battery, which by the way, is non-removable. One drawback however, which comes with this phone and which can be a little setback for a user buying phones in a market with pretty much every phone being dust and waterproof is that, the Nokia 8 is not fully waterproof. Other than that, this phone offers a great value for your money. Buying one of the new Nokia 8, Nokia phone will set you back on $340 (the steel version) and $360, if buying from Tata CLiQ and Flipkart, respectively, while a good $370 if you plan on buying it from Amazon. In summary, if you’re looking for a phone with an amazing battery life, decent camera, smart sleek look and a reasonable price, this might be it.

Other news say that HMD Global had confirmed, direct provision of the new Android 8.1 Oreo update to the Nokia 2 phone, which was released in October 2017 and was launched throughout the Indian markets, a month after its world-wide release.
